Thanks in advance,
arbi,
A. Depends on the distro you use and your graphics settings
But yes you should see better performance
I suggest a dual boot though incase things don't go as planned in linux

How do I monitor Linux memory usage in megabytes?
Q. The top command shows me memory usage in percentage, but how do I see this in megabytes?
To those with answers like "use Linux commands" or "look at your hard drive usage" - thanks for your time, but thats not helpful. If you read my question carefully you'll see I mention that I'm already aware of Linux commands; I mention using the top command. Second, memory (RAM) is not the same as hard drive space.
Also, I forgot to mention that I'd like to see the memory usage for each individual process. The use of the "free -m" command only shows me the system's memory usage.
I just found out that the top command can show you how much heap memory a process is using, which I think is what I'm looking for... Open top, press f, then toggle on the DATA column, then press enter, then press Shift+f and sort by the DATA column. Can anyone think of a better way?
